Kathleen made my dream of starting a nonprofit into a reality! And now rely on Kathleen every step of the way as my advisor and confidant.
Kathleen is very, very smart, empathetic, and intuitive. She's comfortable talking effective altruism, math, science, or meditation. She is a polymath. She can be very practical or very deep and transformative—whichever you need in the moment.
Leadership is hard, but it’s so much easier with Kathleen on my side.

Kathleen is an invaluable thought partner as I process how my values relate to my professional life. She asks questions that make me think deeply about how I can contribute to things that matter. She provides concrete ideas on how to get closer to my goals and is always incredibly empathetic, reminding me to give myself grace in a world where we often push ourselves too hard. I have immensely enjoyed working with Kathleen and would recommend to anyone in any stage of career.

Kathleen is extremely talented at helping me understand myself better. Rather than provide strong opinions on the specific challenges I’m facing, she helps identify ways in which I may be getting in my own way, or where I may be acting inconsistently with my own values and beliefs. Every time I talk with Kathleen, I feel better prepared to be maximally effective.

I’ve always been motivated to use my own career for good. As a college student I learned about Effective Altruism, a movement that has influenced me deeply. I pursued graduate studies in math, aiming for a career in AI Safety Research. Then I worked at Open Philanthropy, as an AI forecasting researcher. I’ve also worked in data science and applied math research at a wide variety of organizations.
But even at mission-driven organizations, I watched myself and colleagues suffer from burnout and stress. I came to believe that if we want to do good in the world, we have to start from our own well-being. After spending years learning how to do this for myself, I’ve started helping others on the same journey.
My approach is very influenced by meditation practice, as well as Internal Family Systems work, non-violent communication, authentic relating practices, and Gendlin’s Focusing practice.
